I am currently a Ph.D. candidate in the Media, Technology, and Society Program in the School of Communication at Northwestern University, and a member of Dr. Eszter Hargittai’s Web Use Project research group. My research interests focus on identity creation and gender performance in mediated contexts. In plain English, I looks at how women use media, and how media use women. My dissertation research explores how mommy-bloggers use digital media as a way of both performing and commodifying identity, recreating themselves online not just as individuals but as lifestyle brands through their use of digital media publishing and social networking platforms.

My previous education includes a Bachelor of Arts in Classics from the University of British Columbia, and a Master of Science in Higher Education Policy degree from the School of Education and Social Policy at Northwestern University.
